Why Consider a Trust?

Some questions are worth asking before you decide. None of them have an automatic answer.

Questions that often lead to a trust discussion

  • Do you have children from a previous relationship?
  • Would you like your partner provided for, while keeping a clear route to your children?
  • Is a beneficiary young, vulnerable, or not yet ready to manage money?
  • Is a beneficiary facing relationship difficulties or creditor problems?
  • Do you own a business, farm, or more than one property?
  • Do you want to protect what you leave for future generations?

How we answer it

We read your answers, look at how your assets are actually owned, and talk to you. Only then do we say whether a trust is worth putting in place, what type, and what it would cost. Will Trust and trust planning starts from £400 following review.

What we will not say

We will not tell you that a trust guarantees protection from care fees, creditors, divorce, tax or any other future event. Trusts can be useful estate-planning tools in appropriate circumstances. Their suitability depends on your objectives, family circumstances, assets and applicable law.
